Ulster History Park,
Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
The 35 acre Ulster History Park depicted life in Ireland over a period from 8000BC to the Plantation period, i.e. the 17th century, with reconstructions of buildings from the Mesolithic era to Plantation times. Much confused with the Ulster American Folk Park by those who have never visited it.
Sadly, the last news I had on this park was that it was closing and a new buyer was being sought.
It appears that this matter is ongoing as can be seen from the extract from the council minutes below.
Council Minutes
Development Committee - 15/11/2005
15th November 2005IN RESPONSE: to a query from Councillor McDonnell, the Head of Arts and Tourism advised that the sale had initially been agreed in September 2004 and that it was prudent to set a deadline for the matter to be concluded.
