The Mourne Mountains

Despite being rather small mountains, the Mourns undoubtedly contain the most dramatic mountain scenery in Northern Ireland. In truth they fully deserve their designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Despite all this natural beauty, the thing that most typifies the area are the man made dry stone walls.

It is said that the these mountains where the inspiration for the Kingdom of Narnia created by local author C. S. Lewis.
